Kerry Washington
Kerry Washington’s Eco Pad
As featured in the June 2009 issue of O Magazine, Kerry’s apartment went under an eco overhaul after designer Danny Seo quite simply stated, “...her apartment was ugly and not even functional”. Kerry had moved into an apartment after the break up with her former fiancé. And people, we all know what it means to recoup from a major life change like a break-up! Girl needed to get her head together before she could get her pad together. Makes sense to me!! Throwing herself into her work was one of the ways she chose to get through a tough time in her life. But as the fog lifts, you can see your space for what it truly is and that is when she called on Danny. Making use of organic textiles, recycled materials, bold colors and prints and compact fluorescent lighting, Kerry’s apartment went from Drab to Eco Fab. She now has a place that reflects her eco-friendly sensibilities, with a Kitchen that sports energy efficient appliances, an office with Gorgeously GREEN Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)- Free paint color and in the bedroom a climbing frame for her dog covered in a flea market found Peruvian rug (Only $15!!!)! That is just to mention a few of the updates! Kerry now has an eco-friendly space to truly call home!
